We recently told you about the new Pariah comic book series from Aron Warner, Philip Gellat, and Brett Weldele; and today the creative team left some clues as to what’s coming in a series of gripping videos on the Pariah website.
The videos are confiscated diary entries (and confessions) from teenage Vitro fugitives on the run from the government soldiers who are determined to bring them in. Some of them are frightened and confused, others informed and willing to fight. In one heartbreaking video it is learned how a Vitro was turned in by his own parents.
The Vitros are a scattered population of a couple hundred teenagers with rapidly developed intelligence beyond anything imaginable, the side effect of an experimental genetic in vitro medicine. Fear and prejudice result in a general mistrust of Vitros and come to a boiling point when an explosion at a weapons lab employing teenage Vitro scientists releases a lethal virus into the atmosphere. The Vitros, blamed for the incident, have been declared terrorists by the international community.
In each of the videos an individual Vitro tells only a piece of her or his story. And the pieces, when put together, indicate some of the things to come over the 12-part comic book series Pariah.
Pariah creators Aron Warner, Philip Gellat, and Brett Weldele will be appearing at TR!CKSTER (200 Harbor Drive, Suite 120, in San Diego) on Thursday, July 21st from 12 noon-2 pm. They’ll also be signing at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 22nd from 3-5pm
at Exhibitor Table E03.
