It seems like The New Mutants director Josh Boone has been attached to every Stephen King project currently in development. While that is a bit of an overstatement, Boone has been attached at various points to adaptations of King’s The Stand and Revival.

And as of today, Variety is reporting that Boone is now attached to pen the screenplay for Amblin’s upcoming feature adaptation of Stephen King and Peter Straub’s novel The Talisman.

Originally, Amblin planned for their adaptation of “The Talisman” to be a TV series, but it seems they have decided (for the time being) to just make the novel into one stand-alone flick.

Boone, while currently only attached to the project as screenwriter, may very well end up set up to the directing plate once he finishes on Fox’s The New Mutants. Time will tell.

The Talisman is produced by Frank Marshall with Michael Wright exec producing.

Synopsis:
Based on the best-selling novel, the movie follows a boy, who in order to save his mother from certain death, enters a parallel world known as the Territories in search of a powerful talisman.
