The Hollywood Reporter
Attention! Our world is now complete! Yet another rapper with a silly name has been cast to face off against an iconic slasher! I really thought we were well past this ridiculous trend.
In any event … according to The Hollywood Reporter, Grammy-nominated rapper and R&B artist Trey Songz has signed to play one of the leads in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, the latest reimagining of Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic about a group of teens who run into a family of cannibals in Texas.
Please lord let him be hideously sawed in half.
Songz joins the previously announced Scott Eastwood, Alexandra Daddario, Tania Raymonde, Paul Rae, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, Ritchie Montgomery, Bill Moseley and Sue Rock in the film with cameos by Tobe Hooper and Gunnar Hansen. John Luessenhop (Takers) is directing with Carl Mazzocone, Avi Lerner, and Mark Burg producing.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D is scheduled for an October 5th, 2012 release from Lionsgate.
