Emma Dark’s Salient Minus Ten Premiering At The British Horror Film Festival

Published

on

We’ve got some huge news regarding the sci-fi horror short Salient Minus Ten. The film will have its UK premiere at the 2017 British Horror Film Festival. Writer and director Emma Dark and lead actor Alan Austen will both be in attendance.

The premiere will be screened at Leicester Square’s Empire Cinema on November 4th at 11:00am. It will form part of screening block three, which will also include the short NightmARes and the feature The Unwilling, which was directed by Oscar nominee Jonathan Heap. Tickets for screening block three will cover all three films, and will soon be available to buy on the festival’s website.

If you can’t make it to the premiere above, Salient Minus Ten will also be screened at The Dark Side Magazine’s Darkfest Film Festival on November 26th at London’s Genesis Cinema, although the exact time of the screening has yet to be specified. You can purchase tickets from Darkfest’s official website.

Emma Dark will also be attending the Darkfest screening, and provided the following statement about how she feels about her film being accepted into both festivals.

“Myself and the cast and crew are very happy to have been accepted into both festivals and to be playing at such wonderful and iconic venues for both. It will be amazing to see everyone’s hard work on the big screen with cinema quality projection and sound, that’s something that isn’t always possible on the festival circuit for short films. We are very much looking forward to our UK (and possibly world) premiere at The British Horror Film Festival, and I’m particularly excited about playing before ‘The Unwilling’ starring Lance Henriksen as I’m a huge Alien 3 fan.

Also super excited to not only have a four page interview talking about ‘Salient Minus Ten’ in The Dark Side Magazine, but to have been featured on the cover as well. After almost 18 months of very hard work it’s nice to see how well the project is being received, and I hope this is just the beginning of more success for ‘Salient Minus Ten’.”

Samuel L. Jackson Wraps on M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass

Published

on

That was fast. It was just two weeks ago that we shared your first on-set look at Samuel L. Jackson as Mr. Glass in M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming Unbreakable/Split sequel, and today we have news that Jackson has wrapped his role.

The update comes to us directly from Shyamalan himself who took to Twitter to let us all know that not only has Sam Jackson wrapped his role in Glass, but there is only one week left of filming overall.

Here is his tweet:

Does this mean the crew has gathered up enough footage to give us all a teaser trailer in the near future? I would think so, so let’s not be too surprised if that’s just what we get before the end of the year.

Fingers crossed.

The film is written & directed by M. Night Shyamalan and stars Bruce Willis, James McAvoy, Anya-Taylor Joy, Sarah Paulson, Spencer Treat Clark, Charlayne Woodard, and Samuel L. Jackson as Mr. Glass.

Glass hits theaters January 18, 2019.

Synopsis:

Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.

Short Film: Tony Morales’ Hada Will Creep You Out

Published

on

Here at Dread Central, we are always on the lookout to peep and share cool new horror shorts from around the web. Case in point, director Tony Morales’ Hada.

The short film was selected for 260 festivals and received 50 awards, and you can now check it out in its entirety below.

I watched it this past weekend and there were more than a few shots contained within that chilled my bones. All about those feet moving up onto the bed. Brr. That’s all I’ll say.

Actually, I’ll say a (tiny) bit more: Someone needs to give Morales a shot at one of the new Conjuring-universe films. I think he’d knock it out of the park.

Watch the flick and you’ll see what I mean.

Again, you can check out the short below and then after giving the film a viewing, make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below!

You can become a fan of the short film on Facebook HERE.

Synopsis:

Tonight Hada comes to visit Daniel because his last child tooth has fallen out. What Daniel doesn´t expect is that his worst enemy is the light.

Dread Central: How is the film coming along?

Rocky Gray: The film is now completed and we are getting the perks out to our Indiegogo backers. The backers and Death By Festival got to see the first cut of the film in October and they loved it so we’re very excited to get the film out to everyone else very soon.

DC: What can expect from this anthology?

RG: Expect to have a lot of Halloween themed fun. Each segment has its own flavor so the pacing and the look change throughout the film. With masked killers, vampires, scarecrows, tricksters and old hags there’s something for everyone.

DC: Will there be a sequel?

RG: If there was a demand for it we would make it happen!

Sounds good to us. Thanks for chatting with us, Rocky!
