Having covered the San Diego Comic-Con for several years now, dealing with crowds and all manner of nerd-based horrors, we know the importance of taking some time to get away from it all. What better way to do so than by shooting some shambling walking bags of pus?

Are you game? Then swing by Deep Silver’s booth #3829 at the convention center. And if you need more, and who wouldn’t, on Friday July 22, at 7:30 pm there’s a pretty nifty panel you may want to take in. The Science of Zombies: How Possible Is a Zombie Virus? – Find out what makes DEAD ISLAND’s zombies tick as GamePro’s science editor, Andrew Groen, joins Dead Island writer Haris Orkin; Harvard psychiatrist and author of The Zombie Autopsies, Dr. Steven C. Schlozman; author of The Zombie Survival Guide, Max Brooks; and UC Berkeley’s neuroscience expert Brad Voytek to explore the misunderstood monsters in a panel that will be anything but dead simple. Shuffle to Room 8 to pick their brains.

Welcome to the Island of Banoi!
The player is drawn into the world of Dead Island on the brink of a mysterious epidemic that suddenly, and without warning, breaks out on the fictional island of Banoi. As a guest of the Royal Palms Resort, the player’s stay was supposed to be a dream holiday, a luxurious getaway to the beautiful beaches of a tropical paradise. But faced with the reality of a zombie apocalypse, there is only one thing left to do: Survive.

This is Dead Island… a paradise to die for.

Dead Island will be available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Game Features

  • First-person melee combat
