Well, kids. It had a good run. A short one but still good. It’s sounding as if Zombieland 2 is becoming less and less of a reality. Last week star Jesse Eisenberg was pretty down on the flick happening, and now director Ruben Fleischer has chimed in. Read on.

While doing press for his new flick 30 Minutes or Less, Fleischer spoke with ComingSoon and stated, “I can promise you it’s something we all want to do. I think the reality of it happening is getting less and less real. It’s just harder and harder every day because everybody’s gotten really busy, and the reality is that we’ve never had a script that we’ve all just fallen in love with. Until there’s a script that we all can say, ‘This is it,’ it’s more of an idea than an actual thing that we can work towards prioritizing and realizing.”

And so it goes. We’re just waiting for the eventual double-tap. Sigh.

I thought Zombieland was fine, but it was a mainstream film inspired by horror successes, it wasn’t aiming for genre fans.

One is enough, there wasn’t anything unique or unfinished in the first.

I’m gonna be the lone voice out: ZOMBIELAND is seriously overrated.

To this day, I want to smack anyone who puts it anywhere near the league of Shaun of the Dead.

I couldn’t agree more. The flick had a good opening, dull second act, and ludicrous ending. Not a huge fan.

You’re definitely not the “lone voice out.” It’s absolutely overrated. I don’t think it’s a bad movie (a solid 3/5), but when I see people putting it on “top 10 zombie movies of all time” lists I throw up in my mouth a little bit.

I wasn’t a big fan of the first one so this doesn’t break my heart.

Never understood all the fuss about “Zombieland” – personally, I thought it was shit!

I was hoping that the second movie would be better than the first, since it wouldn’t be written as a TV pilot. Oh well. I’m not really heart broken.

The first movie is good as a one shot, I’m not too upset by this development, truth be told. It would have just been saturated with more goofy celebrity cameos and more trying to outdo the first one.
