McCormack Checks Into 1408

Mary McCormack in 1408The trades are reporting this morning that “Gross Anatomy” star Kate Walsh has exited the upcoming King adaptation, 1408, her shoes being filled by Mary McCormack, who most will likely remember best as Howard Stern’s wife in Private Parts.

Because of the shooting schedule for “Anatomy,” Walsh was going to be unable to make it behind cameras in time, as the film rolls this month in the UK. John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson have no such issues, so hopefully this is the last bit of casting news we’ll be hearing and the next word will be on how badass the film looks.

In case you’ve forgotten, 1408 is the story of an author writing a book about haunted hotel rooms, so he checks into the titular room number at the Dolphin Inn. What he finds inside is more than just a regular haunting; it is the embodiment of evil. I recommend you familiarize yourself with the story, which is featured in King’s Everything’s Eventual collection if you’ve not already; it shows the man has still “got it”.
