Robert Englund Wants to See Kevin Bacon Fired Up as New Freddy Krueger

The last time A Nightmare on Elm Street was rebooted turned out to be a real nightmare, but we all know you cannot keep a good ghoul down for long, and sooner or later the clawed one will surely be slicing his way through our hearts and nights.
A few months back Kevin Bacon was answering a fan’s question via Twitter and expressed interest in donning the dirty fedora and glove. Know who else is interested in seeing him do that? Robert Englund himself.
Recently Cinema Blend caught up with Englund to talk about another new Nightmare, and he had some interesting things to say…
“Well the gossip I’ve heard, and I don’t know how valid this is, but there has been some talk about using, or perhaps he’s been approached, Kevin Bacon,” said Englund. “Yeah. I think that would be great. He’s in one of my favorite little horror movies, Stir of Echoes, and you should check it out if you haven’t seen it. And I just think Kevin’s the right size. I think he respects horror movies. He doesn’t make fun of them. I think it would be real interesting.”
