DVD and Blu-ray Releases: September 26, 2017

As promised, we have another hefty release list for you this week, friends. There’s a good amount of classic stuff coming out, as well as some newer heavy hitters. First, as usual, our discrepancies. The Devil’s Candy, may have come out last week, but it popped up again for this week. You should be able to find it now.
Probably the biggest title of the week would be 47 Meters Down. You can pick it up on Blu-ray and DVD. I won’t though. I personally draw the line at sharks and the ocean and… yeah, this is just a no-go for me.
Another widely well-received movie hitting shelves this week is It Stains The Sands Red. If you haven’t heard the hype, check it out. This is one I will definitely be picking up.
In terms of classics, this week sees the Arrow Blu-ray release of Bride Of Re-Animator. Also on Blu-ray this week is 1989’s The Dead Next Door. Reaching back to 1965, we get the Blu-ray release of Orgy Of The Dead. Other classics this week include Blu-rays of Friday the 13th Parts 2 and 3 (there are more Friday the 13th Blu-rays coming up in future weeks), a Director’s Cut of Cannibal Ferox, Psychos In Love, A Quiet Place In The Country and Lucio Fulci’s 1986 thriller The Devil’s Honey. Not a bad week for classics if I say so myself.
As for more recent movies, well, there are plenty of those as well. This week sees offerings such as Lycan, The Black Room, Dwelling and The Night Before. I told you that the next month or so would be stacked with new releases. Try to save some money to buy candy for Halloween and I will see you folks next week. As always, pleasant viewing.

47 Meters Down (2017)

The Black Room (2016)

Bride Of Re-Animator (1989) (Limited Edition Steelbook)

Synopsis:
The success of Stuart Gordon s hit horror-comedy Re-Animator meant that a sequel was all but inevitable. The resulting follow-up, Bride of Re-Animator this time helmed by director Brian Yuzna (Society, Return of the Living Dead III) would prove that there was a good deal more life (and death) left in the story of Dr. Herbert West and his ghoulish exploits.
It has been eight months since the bloody massacre at Miskatonic Medical School. Unperturbed by the disastrous outcome of his previous meddling with the dead, Dr West (again played by Jeffrey Combs) continues his research into the phenomenon of re-animation; only this time, he plans to create life starting with the heart of his young protégé Dan s dearly deceased, Meg Halsey. Surely nothing could go wrong?
With special effects master Screaming Mad George (the man behind the infamous shunting sequence of Society) on hand to contribute a host of characteristically weird and wonderful creations, Bride of Re-Animator is a more than worthy successor to Stuart Gordon s original cult classic.

The Devil’s Candy (2015)

Killer Barbys (1996)
