Season 1 of “The Exorcist” took its time reeling us in before blowing our minds with the reveal of its secret connection to the film, but it looks like Season 2 is going to be balls-to-the-wall right out of the gate… just check out these new stills and artwork released by FOX this weekend in anticipation of the show’s return on September 29th.

Courtesy of THR, we first see actress Zibby Allen doing the infamous “spiderwalk” while Father Tomas quotes scripture. Next is Allen in full-blown possession mode tasting a bit of priestly flesh.

Meanwhile, the poster shows new co-star Brianna Hildebrand screaming in profile as strands of her hair rise upwards in a semblance of the haunting woods that dot the new setting. Spooky, right? Friday can’t come soon enough for us!

Season 2 picks up with Father Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera) and the now-collarless Marcus Keane (Ben Daniels) out of Chicago and on the road, searching out evil. Across the Atlantic, Father Bennett (Kurt Egyiawan) attempts to weed out those within The Vatican who have turned against God. Ultimately, Tomas and Marcus are led to Andrew Kim (John Cho), a former child psychologist who runs a group home for five at-risk foster children on a secluded private island off the coast of Seattle. When one of the children under Andrew’s care is targeted by a powerful force, the two priests head west, setting themselves on a collision course with Hell.

“The Exorcist” Episode 2.01 – “Janus” (airs 9/29/17) – Season Premiere
In the Season 2 premiere, Father Tomas continues his training to become an exorcist under the watchful eye of his partner, Marcus Keane. Their travels lead them to a troubled young woman in rural Montana, where their investigation puts them in the crosshairs of her extended family. In other events, the State sends a social worker to determine whether Andy Kim’s group home for at-risk foster children should be closed.
