Constellation to Screen Sweatshop Online With Director Stacy Davidson on July 16

Loose party girls, a rave in a secluded location and a giant, hammer-wielding killer dressed in fur and a welder’s mask. Who could ask for anything more? That’s exactly what you’ll get should you make your way over to the world’s first global movie theater, Constellation, for the July 16th opening of the 1980’s-esqe film Sweatshop.
For the measly price of $3.99 you get an e-ticket that allows you entrance to the film, which will be hosted by director Stacy Davidson and feature a real-time discussion board during and after the film. There are only 100 tickets available for the premiere so don’t drag your feet on this one.
After the 16th you can schedule your own screening, which you can host. Ever wonder what it’d be like to be Elvira Mistress of the Dark, Joe Bob Briggs or the Crypt Keeper? Now you can find out by inviting your friends and hosting your own movie screening!

Constellation, the first global movie theater, will present the award-winning horror film Sweatshop beginning on July 16th. The thrilling film about a group of drunk and sex-addled teens who are haunted by an enormous, hammer-wielding beast will make its global debut in virtual, social movie theaters hosted on the Constellation platform.
Constellation viewers pay $3.99 for e-tickets to attend most screenings, invite others to attend with them (for discounted ticket prices) and engage in real-time discussion during and after the film. After the 16th fans of the movie will also be able to set a date and time for their own personal, hosted screenings and post the link for their online fans.
Sweatshop producer and co-writer Ted Geoghegan said, “With Sweatshop Stacy and I strived to create a truly indie slasher film that embodied the trashy, rough but ultimately fun cinema we grew up on. It doesn’t pay homage to the body count cinema of the 70s and 80s as much as it humbly tries to replicate it. It’s awash with all the nasty characters, gratuitous nudity and shocking violence that first created our love of extreme cinema. And now, prior to its DVD release, we’re happy to share Sweatshop with fans online – and look forward to their comments and discussions with each other on the Constellation’s new platform.”
Director Stacy Davidson will be present during the premiere screening of the film online in the virtual theater, via webcam, July 16th at 9:00 PM EDT and will host a virtual Q+A. Other VIP hosts will be announced soon.
