One of the flicks playing this year’s Fantastic Fest is writer/director Luke Shanahan’s new thriller, Rabbit; and to celebrate the film’s arrival, we have lots of eye candy for you to feast upon, including the official trailer. Dig it!

From the Press Release:
Stylish new Australian psychological thriller RABBIT is a suspenseful, atmospheric film – inspired by classic 70’s horror – and with surprising twists and genre turns, it’s an intense and unusual portrait of the psychic connection between twins, as viewed through a science fiction lens.

Featuring a riveting dual lead performance from Adelaide Clemens’ (The Great Gatsby, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Silent Hill) as identical twins with a mysterious psychic connection, her performance deftly blurs the lines between fragility and emotional depth, reality and psychosis. The film also stars Alex Russell (Chronicle, S.W.A.T).

RABBIT is a throwback to the classic psychological 70’s horror genre and a tale of searching for one’s lost identical twin, as our lead Maude endures both psychological and physical terror in pursuit of her missing sister. Employing psychedelic visuals and a mind-bending soundscape, it puts a fresh twist on the classic horror trope of twin sisters – with a psychic connection – in distress.

RABBIT marks the feature debut of one of Australia’s leading new filmmakers, writer/director Luke Shanahan. The film also stars Jonny Pasvolsky (“Westworld”) and Veerle Baetens (The Broken Circle Breakdown, “Tabula Rasa”).

RABBIT world premiered at the 2017 Melbourne Film Festival and makes its North American premiere at Fantastic Fest 2017. Screen Daily said RABBIT is “ambitiously unnerving,” and Screen Anarchy called it a “brilliantly shot mind-fuck.”
