The first official image from the upcoming season of Showtime’s hit serial killer series “Dexter” is here showing the man himself getting down to business by … well, you’ll see.

Still here? Good!
“Witness blood splatter analyst/serial killer Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) squatting by a stitched-up corpse while preparing an evidence bag of … baby snakes? “That is the first mysterious kill linked to Professor Gellar that’s going to cross Dexter’s path and let him know that he’s up against a killer, the likes of which he hasn’t seen before,” exec producer Scott Buck tells EW, referencing the charismatic religious studies professor that will be played by Edward James Olmos. “This is a person who’s sending out a message, and Dexter can’t wait to figure out what that message is.”
“Battlestar Galactica”‘s Edward James Olmos, “Mad Men”‘s Colin Hanks, “Deadwood”‘s Molly Parker, “Off The Map”‘s Aimee Garcia, and “Light’s Out”‘s Billy Brown have all landed major recurring arcs.
Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) spent Season Five atoning for the death of his wife, Rita. He committed to being a part of her children’s lives and entered into a deep, passionate relationship with Lumen, unlike anything he’d ever had before. But Dexter’s need to kill overpowers his desire for human connection. And now that one person knows the truth about him, and a few others are close, how much longer will America’s favorite serial killer be able to keep his dark side a secret?
