This Video Explains Why Night of the Living Dead Seems to Be in Every Horror Film

If you’ve ever sat back and wondered to yourself, “Why does Romero’s Night of the Living Dead seem to be in so many other movies?“, just know that you’re not alone. It’s something a great many people have thought to themselves because, well…it IS everywhere! Seen in films such as Stir of Echoes, Halloween 2, Idle Hands, and many, many more horror movies, Night of the Living Dead is everywhere because is CAN be everywhere…legally speaking, of course.
But if you’re ever wanted to know why that’s allowed and why we don’t see this with many other films, YouTuber Kaptain Kristian has the answer for you in the below video.
The basic gist of it is that Night of the Living Dead failed to put the right copyright information on the title screen of the film. Through this seemingly innocent blunder and because of copyright laws in effect at the time, the film and its intellectual concepts – in this case, the new style of zombies that were radically different from the, up until that point, Haitian zombies – were fair game for pretty much everyone.
