Legalities Be Damned! The Crow Will Fly Again

Seems like we’ll be getting that Crow reboot whether we want it or not. It’s too much of a recognizable property (despite there only being one decent film in the franchise) for Hollywood to let it rest in peace. So despite the legal battle that’s currently raging, we’re told that The Crow WILL return! Um. Yay?
Variety says that Relativity Media and producer Edward R. Pressman are ready to spread our titular character’s wings. They’ve hired Watchmen screenwriter Alex Tse to pen the reboot, which is still slated to star Bradley Cooper.
Despite the cult status, I have to admit that I was never that big on The Crow and never bothered with any of the sequels. Add to that the fact that Bradley Cooper is going to topline this reinvention and I have to admit that my enthusiasm wanes even further. Is there going to come a point in time when audiences demand that Hollywood stop recycling tired and old ideas? Hopefully one of these days the answer to that question will be ‘Yes.’
