As Darkness FallsThe first trailer for As Darkness Falls, a 30-minute horror radio anthology series in the tradition of such classic old-time radio fare as Inner Sanctum, Lights Out!, and CBS Radio Mystery Theater, is now available from Blue Hours Productions.

Says John C. Alsedek of Blue Hours, “It’s not easy to do a video trailer for a radio program, but I think it really captures the spirit of the thing. Very stark and stylish, with spot-on acting performances and haunting music.”

The show consists entirely of original scripts written by Alsedek and his Blue Hours partner Dana Hayes, and it features an outstanding cast of voice actors. “We are truly fortunate to have such talent to work with”, notes Hayes. “They never cease to amaze me with their ability to instantly get into character!”

The As Darkness Falls crew is comprised of an eclectic bunch:

Adrienne Wilkinson is best known for her role as Livia on “Xena” but has an extensive resume of voiceover work; most recently, she played The Daughter on the Cartoon Network series “The Clone Wars”. Daamen Krall is a much in-demand voice actor with over 50 major films and TV series to his credit; his on-camera roles include Dr. Caligari in the award-winning reimagining of the classic Cabinet of Doctor Caligari. Netahly Leddel is a relative newcomer to voice work but has already established herself as the “Woman of a Thousand Voices”. Roque Cerda is a holdover from the original As Darkness Falls, which aired as a TV series on Time Warner Cable in 2009. Joined by the show’s host, outstanding character actor Tucker Smallwood (Contact, “Star Trek: Enterprise”) and others including both Alsedek and Hayes, the As Darkness Falls actors tackle a wide variety of acting assignments with skill and aplomb.

Recording for the initial package of twelve episodes is almost complete, and final editing has already begun. As Darkness Falls will be released in the fall by Speaking Volumes in three different formats: as individual MP3 downloads, as audiobooks, and in national radio syndication. The first twelve episodes are:

• ‘An Ungentle Wager’
• ‘Behind Every Great Man…’
• ‘De Vermis Manorum’
• ‘Ebb Tide’
• ‘Essence’
• ‘Forest of the Dark Unbound’
• ‘Gag Reflex’
• ‘Madeline’s Veil’
• ‘Terror in Studio A’
• ‘That Which Has A Name’
• ‘The Pipes of Tcho Ktlan’
