Josh Cooke, DexterSome more casting news coming in for the next season of the hit Showtime series about a serial killer with (kind of) a heart, “Dexter”. Who’s next to be a fly in Dex’s ointment?

According to TVLine, the Showtime thriller has tapped Josh Cooke (pictured right; Quarantine 2: Terminal) to play the recurring role of Louis Greene, a new lab intern at Miami Metro and a buddy of fellow forensics nerd Masuka (C.S. Lee). An insider describes Cooke’s character as a “computer genius and a bit arrogant about it.

He joins “Battlestar Galactica”‘s Edward James Olmos, “Mad Men”‘s Colin Hanks, “Deadwood”‘s Molly Parker, “Off the Map”‘s Aimee Garcia, and “Lights Out”‘s Billy Brown in landing a major recurring arc.

Dexter Morgan spent Season Five atoning for the death of his wife, Rita. He committed to being a part of her children’s lives and entered into a deep, passionate relationship with Lumen, unlike anything he’d ever had before.

But Dexter’s need to kill overpowers his desire for human connection. And now that one person knows the truth about him, and a few others are close, how much longer will America’s favorite serial killer be able to keep his dark side a secret?
