Rest in Peace: Tobe Hooper

It is with immense sadness that we report the following devastating news coming out of Hollywood tonight as according to the Los Angeles County Coroner, legendary director Tobe Hooper has passed away at the all too young age of just 74.
Circumstances surrounding his death are as of yet unrevealed, but according to Variety Hooper died on Saturday, August 26th, in Sherman Oaks, California. This is yet another huge loss for the horror genre and filmmaking as a whole.
Words elude us during this horrendous time. Hooper gave us so many gifts over the years from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre to Poltergeist and beyond. His contributions cannot ever be understated.
We here at Dread Central would like to take this time to both honor the man and offer our sincerest of condolences to Hooper’s friends, family, and constituents. Godspeed, good sir, and thank you for all of the screams over the years. You will be more than missed.
