Oh, yes. The mind-blowing, retina searing, brain melting, action that is Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon is officially on its way! The game has gone gold (discs are being pressed for mass production) and we’ve got all the details for you!

The insects have set their targets on planet Earth as D3Publisher today announced that Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon has gone gold and will launch on July 5th in North America for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system at the suggested retail price of $39.95. In Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, thousands of giant insects and aliens once again ravage the earth, and only the Earth Defense Force can stop them. Create a squad of up to three players in co-op play using any four upgradeable armor types and destroy these monsters at all costs, even if it means turning entire city blocks into rubble with a selection of over 300 weapons.

Thinking about picking it up? Then make sure you pre-order it at either GameStop or Best Buy for some bitchin’ DLC. Both DLCs offer your choice of two exclusive DLC weapons packs featuring 15 weapons for in-game customizable armors.

In Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon players take on the role of the world’s elite soldiers, who will engage in nonstop bug filled arcade action with over 300 weapons and four upgradeable armor sets. The game features a six-player Survival mode that pits a human squad against a nonstop onslaught of the largest enemies the aliens have to offer. Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon also provides players with an online co-op experience in Campaign mode, which lets up to three players team up online (providing the PlayStation Network is back online sometime this year).

It is imperative that the Earth Defense Force is properly briefed on the characteristics of all potential invaders! Be sure to join the Earth Defense Force community and find out more about Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon at the official Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon site or check out Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon on Facebook for more goodies.
