Johnny Depp Producing The Secret World TV Adaptation

In addition to being one of the most versatile actors in Hollywood, Johnny Depp has also enjoyed a strong career as a producer through his company Infinitum Nihil. Deadline is now reporting that he is currently set to produce a TV adaptation of the video game The Secret World.
Developed by Funcom and published by EA, The Secret World is an MMO about a secret war between three secret societies: the Illuminati, the Dragon, and the Templar. Heavily influenced by horror fiction and folklore, it’s also filled with Transylvanian vampires, Egyptian mummies, zombies, and Lovecraftian entities. Originally released in 2012, the game was rebranded this year as Secret World Legends, with some of the notable changes including improved visuals and a redesigned combat system.
Gudrun Giddings will also produce via his company G4C Innovation, with Christi Dembrowski and Sam Sarkar also on board as producers. James V. Hart and Jake Hart will write the series, with “CSI: NY’s” Pam Veasey serving as showrunner.
