After a successful run at the SXSW 2011 Film Festival, we wondered when Cold Sweat (a.k.a. Sudor Frío) was going to get a home. Well, it has found one with the good folks over at Dark Sky Films, and we have all the details and a brand spanking new still for you!

From the Press Release
MPI Media Group announced it has acquired all North American rights to COLD SWEAT, a new horror film featuring a pair of villains who raise the bar in cinematic evil. A sensation at the South By Southwest film festival, the film, directed by Adrián García Bogliano, will receive a theatrical release in fall 2011, to be followed by DVD and Video on Demand availability.

COLD SWEAT (Sudor Frío) is a co-production of Pampa Films, a leading studio in Argentina, and indie house Paura Flics. Pampa’s previous productions include the local box-office hits The Signal and The Legend. The COLD SWEAT distribution deal was negotiated by Greg Newman, executive vice president of MPI Media Group, and Antonio Riopredre of Pampa.

Of García Bogliano’s latest stylistic triumph, MPI’s Greg Newman said: “Adrian has been making innovative films for over a decade, and with COLD SWEAT he has delivered a highly original and unforgettable entry in the horror genre. This film is a pure crowd pleaser.”

When Roman’s girlfriend disappears, he expects to find her in the arms of another man. And find her he does, but there is no lover on the scene, only a pair of crazy old men keeping her locked away in the basement of their crumbling mansion. Armed with wild-eyed political ideals and case after case of decades-old and highly unstable dynamite. The villainous duo are conducting illicit experiments on a string of young women lured to their home via the internet, and if Roman cannot free his young love, she is likely to end up in pieces, thanks in part to a generous slathering of nitro-glycerine.

A delirious old school horror picture with the most memorable villains in years at its core, Adrian Garcia Bogliano’s COLD SWEAT was a huge hit at SXSW thanks to its creator’s wild imagination and sense of showmanship. Loaded with memorable characters and stylish action, COLD SWEAT is a shocker that never fails to entertain.

The García Bogliano brothers’ other films include Room for Tourists, Watch ’em Die, The Accursed and Penumbra.

Also starring in COLD SWEAT are Camila Velasco, Omar Musa, Noelia Vergini and Daniel de la Vega. Its producers include Andrea Quiroz, Pablo Bossi, Juan Pablo Buscarini and Catalina Oliva, as well as the García Bogliano brothers and Hernán Moyano. Theatrical distribution in Argentina is by Disney’s Buena Vista International.
