Really Big Dinosaurs Wander The Gasp Menagerie

We all know that dinosaurs got really big.  Like, extremely big.

Scientists are announcing, however, that they got just stupidly, ridiculously big.  At least they did down in the Patagonia region of South America.

The Patagotitan, a new species that was found in 2012, weighed in around 76 tons and was 122 feet long and over 20 feet high.

That’s a big frickin’ dinosaur.

Per Fox News, the co-author of a new study in the Proceedings of the Royal Society B, Diego Pol of the Egidio Feruglio paleontology museum in Argentina, said, “There was one small part of the family (of Titanosaurs) that went crazy on size.”

While it would be cool to see critters this enormous wandering around lost islands chasing Chris Pratt, the researchers say the Patagotitans wouldn’t have been very scary.

“I don’t think they were scary at all,” Pol said. “They were probably massive big, slow-moving animals.”

Explore The Gasp Menagerie!

Have a weird story? Potential evidence of the supernatural, or at least something hard to explain? Spot any creepy critters out there roaming the wilds? LET ME KNOW! I’d love to talk about it and possibly write it up right here in The Gasp Menagerie. You’ll get appropriate credit, of course, and everyone else will get fresh creepy (as opposed to fresh Creepy, which, trust me… nobody wants that) to enjoy. As always, I can be found at mrdark@dreadcentral.com. Now get out there, find some weird, and let’s get this party started.
