As the JJ Abrams directed Super 8 (review here) barrels into theaters later this week, we wanted to bring you folks some comments from the cast and director of the film. Even better? This is just the first in a series of soundbites that we’ll be running all week! Dig it!

In this first part of the video series, we have the kids from Super 8, Joel Courtney, Riley Griffiths, Ryan Lee, Gabriel Basso and Zach Mills, talking about why their movie is the perfect way to start the summer and what tips JJ Abrams gave them to help them along in their roles and beyond. From there Joel elaborates on working with Elle Fanning and their characters’ relationship and why they enjoyed working on location in West Virginia. Also you’ll gain insight into just what was the most fun part about making the movie.
