Elm St 2 & 3, Blu-rayWell, here is a nice surprise! While sifting through the mountainous pile of verbiage that is our e-mail inbox, we came across a quiet little announcement that Freddy fans have been waiting for!

That’s right, children! Both A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge and A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors will be hitting Blu-ray high definition in a special double-feature package on September 27th.

No word on the special features, if any, but we’ll keep our eyes open for you!

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge Synopsis
A new family moves into the house on Elm Street, and before long, the kids are again having nightmares about deceased child murderer Freddy Krueger. This time, Freddy attempts to possess a teenage boy to cause havoc in the real world and can only be overcome if the boy’s sweetheart can master her fear.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors Synopsis
Picking up where the original Nightmare left off, Nancy has grown up and become a psychiatrist specializing in dream therapy. She meets a group of children at a local hospital facing Freddy Krueger, the same demon she once encountered in her sleep. One of them is Kristen, who has the power to draw other people into her dreams. Working with a male doctor assigned to the case, Nancy helps the kids realize their special abilities within the nightmare world. When Freddy captures one of her charges, she leads a rescue attempt into Krueger’s domain in hopes of putting his spirit to rest once and for all.

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

i wished they would just put out a box set heck i would take a double feature blu-rays box set like paramount did with F13TH DVD BOXSET

  • LifeMi

Freddy’s Revenge isn’t a disaster, but it’s no masterpiece either. The acting and writing are severely lacking, not to mention that terrible score. That being said, it’s far from the worst of the series. I’d rather watch Freddy go gay than see Freddy turn into Fire Marshall Bill.

    • kiddcapone

I would take any Nightmare sequel over the remake, even Freddy’s Dead. With that being said, I don’t even consider the Platinum Dunes abortion part of the series. It hangs out in the shithole abyss that Zombie’s Halloween resides…

      • LifeMi

Agreed; I’d go as far as to call Elm Street 2010 a worse movie than Zombie’s Halloween films.

        • Vanvance1

Worse than the first and lazier and more cynical than either. I’d still say Zombie’s Halloween 2 is the most misguided poorly thought out horror sequel of the last 20 years.

Note: The Hitcher remake tops even the NOES remake for pure craptastic effect.

    • Terminal

NOES 2: Freddy goes Fabulous is the worst sequel, but like everyone else here, I’ll see it again before ever laying eyes on the remake ever again.

  • Masked Slasher

Freddy’s Revenge is my favorite sequel, and sometimes I prefer it to the original.

I’m all over this, despite the ugly cover art.

I’d rather New Line/Warner release them individually in special editions, but I guess that’s not going to happen.

    • Uncle Creepy

Freddy’s Revenge is my favorite sequel too. Sucks about the two films on one disc thing but its not like the DVD’s were packing extras either.

      • LeBay

I, too, agree. It seems like such a minority opinion though. The image of the school bus teetering on the edge of the rock spire has always haunted me. And Freddy’s still a mean bastard in this one rather than the goofball he later became.

  • kiddcapone

Depending on my mood, Dream Warriors entertains me more than the original. It really needs a stand-alone special edition. 1 and 3 are heads and tails above every other Freddy flick by a country mile.

  • Terminal

It’s a proven fact Dream Warriors is the most popular movie next to the original NOES. So why not give it a deluxe edition?

If it’s a double-pack, I bet my left nut there won’t be any features.

    • Vanvance1

I hope there are some, at least for number 3 which is one of my favourite Nightmare films.
