It looks like director Craig Gillespie found his muse while working on Fright Night as he’s bringing the writer of that film’s script, Marti Noxon, along with him as he moves to his next project, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
Per ItsOnTheGrid Noxon, the former “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” writer and producer, is rewriting the screenplay of Lionsgate’s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies for Gillespie, who previously spoke of wanting a “polish” of the script done, and it makes sense he’d tap Noxon to accomplish that. We’re still waiting for some casting news, which hopefully will be forthcoming now that the script is reaching its final stages.
The novel by Seth Grahame-Smith mixes Jane Austen’s 1813 classic novel Pride and Prejudice, centering on Elizabeth Bennet’s quest for love and independence, amid the outbreak of a virus that turns the dead into zombies. The story’s set in an alternate version of 19th Century England that features deadly ancestors roaming the countryside.
