Ahoy, maties. Today we be having the trailer debut for the toothy David R. Ellis movie Shark Night 3D. Pull ye legs out of the water and try to avoid gettin’ yeself scurvy, ya land-lubbing meat-bag. Okay, we have no clue why we burst out into pirate lingo, but watch the trailer anyway and stop making a fuss.

Relativity Media’s Shark Night 3D is directed by Ellis (Snakes on a Plane, Final Destination 2, The Final Destination) and stars Sara Paxton (Superhero Movie, Last House on the Left), Dustin Milligan (“90210,” Slither), Chris Carmack (“The O.C.”), Joel David Moore (Avatar, Hatchet) and Katharine McPhee (The House Bunny).

Look for it in theatres on September 2nd.

Synopsis
Arriving by boat at her family’s Louisiana lake island cabin, Sara (Sara Paxton) and her friends quickly strip down to their swimsuits for a weekend of fun in the sun. But when star football player Malik (Sinqua Walls) stumbles from the salt-water lake with his arm torn off, the party mood quickly evaporates. Assuming the injury was caused by a freak wake-boarding accident, the group realizes they have to get Malik to a hospital on the other side of the lake, and fast.

But as they set out in a tiny speedboat, the college friends discover the lake has been stocked with hundreds of massive, flesh-eating sharks! As they face one grisly death after another, Sara and the others struggle desperately to fend off the sharks, get help and stay alive long enough to reach the safety of dry land.

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

It could be a good deal of fun but watching that trailer I can’t help but be reminded that the only difference between this and your typical Syfy original movie is a few million extra dollars in the budget.

Hopefully this movie will have more bite (har har) than THE FINAL DESTINATION did.

Is it too much ask for FINAL DESTINATION 2 levels of gore and mayhem?

    • Foywonder

I believe the plan is for this to be PG-13

      • Vanvance1

Since the only appeal of a shark attack movie is the shark attacks a PG-13 rating is a death sentence. I pronounce this movie dead in the water.

P.S. The director is generic. He probably directs his films dressed in a brown paper bag.

I had a glimmer of hope for this movie. Oh well!
