Paramount Pits Next Cloverfield Film Against Super Bowl

Paramount has decided that pitting Bad Robot’s God Particle, the latest film in the Cloverfield universe, against Jigsaw might not be the best of ideas. Although that’s not the confirmed reason for this, the film has been shifted from its October 27th release date to February 2nd, which is Super Bowl weekend AND where it doesn’t face off against any other wide release title, according to Deadline.

Now, the interesting thing here is that the site states that the film being moved is untitled yet they claim it’s directed by Julius Onah, who is the director of God Particle, which shares that release date. So, unless there were plans for two Cloverfield universe films being released at the same time, God Particle has shifted.

Here’s what we know so far that’s confirmed as official: Julius Onah directs from a script by Oren Uziel and Doug Jung. David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ziyi Zhang, Elizabeth Debicki, Daniel Brühl, and Chris O’Dowd star.
