Exclusive Morgana Teaser Teases a Dark Story of Art and Porn

Today we’ve got something a little different for all of you. What we have below is an exclusive teaser trailer for the Australian documentary Morgana. The film follows 50-year-old Morgana Muses, a woman who, at one point, considered suicide after a divorce. For her last hurrah, she hired a male escort who gave her an experience she hadn’t felt in decades. This led her to turn her life around and brought her into the world of erotic film.
Directors and co-producers Isabel Peppard and Josie Hess began their documentary at Muses’ 50th birthday party, where the erotic star was tied in a Japanese-style bondage installation and was presented as a gift to herself. From there, the documentary took the filmmakers from Victoria, Australia to Berlin’s BDSM clubs and beyond.
Again, we recognize that this isn’t your normal Dread Central fare. However, the teaser we’ve got for you is pretty intense and feels almost like a surreal awakening, complete with fire, faux elongated fingernails, and eerie visuals. For those reasons, and more, we think you’ll find something intriguing about this project.

Synopsis:
“‘Morgana’ is an artistic character portrait of a troubled 50 year old housewife, who re-invents herself as a sex-positive feminist porn star after spending 20 years in a loveless, sexless marriage.
Stuck in the suburbs of rural Australia, Morgana is an eccentric woman who struggles to fit into her role as a dutiful housewife and mother. After significant weight gain, she is ridiculed and ignored by her husband and loses her desired status as a ‘trophy wife’. At the age of 47 she finally gets a divorce, but is cast out by her conservative community and left completely alone to drift, nameless and stateless.
Desperately in need of touch and human contact, Morgana hires a male sex worker for one ‘last hurrah’ before ending it all.
After 15 years of loneliness and sexual isolation within her marriage, the encounter ignites a spark within her and she takes control of her life and begins the process of re-constructing her identity.”
