Trick ‘r Treat Scores

Director Mike Dougherty (in the middle) at the scoring session for Trick 'r Treat! At the recent Weekend of Horrors (full report soon), I got a chance to see a nice bit of Mike Dougherty’s first directorial effort, Trick ‘r Treat (read my set visit here). Just so happened it was the very same scene I saw when we were on set; how cool is that?

Anyway, it got me even more excited for the film, which is due out in theaters October 19th, and today evidence of it’s final stages have come through with the news that Monster House composer Douglas Pipes spent two solid days last week recording the score for the film. Dougherty was involved in the recording sessions, as well, making sure the sound came out with just enough o the creepy/fun mood that exudes from everything I’ve seen of the movie so far.

Check out the full story about the scoring, complete with pictures form the sessions, over on SoundtrackNet, and keep it here for some very cool Trick ‘r Treat– related news very soon!
