Anyone who reads Dread Central already knows what a true master George Romero was, and which of his films they personally hold dearest (for me it’s Creepshow).
Those of us who were lucky enough to spend some time with him quickly learned that he was smart, kind and brilliant. Looking through the hundreds of tributes and tweets showing the collective love for the man, the thing that has been so moving today is seeing so many of you in a picture with him.
Romero really made himself accessible to our entire community. From on-set pictures, at conventions and just plain hanging out, here was a legend who always had time to smile and take a photo with the people that loved and admired him. His impact on horror is immeasurable, he not only inspired multiple generations of a filmmakers, he did it by scaring the crap out of us.
