And no, we’re not talking about making coins appear out of fallen opponents in video game inspired fistfights. Not hardly. There’s a flick on the horizon for star Michael Cera, and it could actually end up being on the darker side of the fence.
Variety reports that Cera (pictured right) is set to star in the indie thriller Magic, Magic, a career left turn from the normal comedic fare we’re used to seeing from the young actor who won geek hearts everywhere in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
Magic, Magic revolves around a girl vacationing with her friends in a remote area of Chile who slowly starts losing her mental faculties. She tries to get her friends’ attention, but they ignore her until it’s too late.
Sebastian Silva will write and direct with Mike White and Christine Vachom producing. The search is still on for the female lead. More soon.
