Bradley Cooper is a super hot commodity in Hollywood right now, and from the looks of things, some upcoming roles are about to turn up the heat like a blazing inferno populated by writhing and burning damned souls, including that rat bastard Osama Bin Laden whom we just shot in the friggin’ eye. Sorry. Still happy here.
In any event, Variety is reporting that Cooper (pictured right) is in early talks to play Lucifer in Alex Proyas’ adaptation of John Milton’s epic 17th-century poem Paradise Lost.
The film has been long in the works at Legendary Pictures and tells the story of the epic war in heaven between archangels Michael and Lucifer, including the latter’s role in Adam and Eve’s fall from grace. Word is also floating around that the film will be crafted as an action vehicle that will include aerial warfare, possibly shot in 3D.
Stuart Hazeldine developed the primary draft of the screenplay that was originally written by Byron Willinger and Philip de Blasi. Lawrence Kasdan provided a polish as well as Ryan Condal, who delivered the most recent draft.
The film is expected to fall under Legendary’s co-production and co-financing agreement with Warner Bros., which will likely distribute the film worldwide.
