Dexter Season 6Yes, the last season of “Dexter” left a bit to be desired, but we’re hoping the gang can pull it together for the show’s sixth season. Speaking of which, some new info surrounding said season has just hit online.

According to TVLine “Dexter” Season Six gets under way at month’s end — ahead of a likely September premiere, and there are three new recurring roles waiting to be filled …

Jamie: Described as an outgoing and fun Latina in her mid-20s, this Florida native relocates to Miami for grad school.

Chicago Mike: New thirtysomething African-American homicide detective who possesses a finely turned BS detector. The Windy City native does not play well with others.

Louis: A buddy of Masuka’s (C.S. Lee) who joins MMP as a new lab intern. Role calls for a Caucasian actor in his 30s who is “attractive in his own way.”

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

I’m giving this show ONE MORE CHANCE, but Dexter is incredibly played out. It’s become more repetitive than a sitcom. It’s always the same damn thing:

Dexter kills some bad men, comes close to getting discovered by his colleagues, gets away with it at the last second. Tangles with the big bad for the last few episodes, then kills him and a delivers a monologue about how his character changed. Wash, rinse, repeat.

And I HATE all the supporting characters I used to love because the writers have essentially turned them all into useless assholes.

When it comes to good genre TV, Supernatural and The Walking Dead kick its ass.

First off the last season of Dexter had fewer plot holes and breaks from believability than previous seasons. The flaw was that every season Dexter is essentially THE EXACT SAME THING. I assume this next seaosn will follow that well worn trail again. Evidence?

Ta-dah. Golly gee, have we seen this character before? I remember him dying in a shed.

To those looking for new smart TV, swing your eyes over to ‘A Game of Thrones’ and ‘Justified’, both well worth watching.
