Is Sony Teasing a Close Encounters of the Third Kind 40th Anniversary Event?

Sony Pictures has posted a video that uses footage, audio, and music from Steven Spielberg’s 1977 classic sci-fi film Close Encounters of the Third Kind. While they aren’t explaining anything about it, including not even revealing that it’s from that film, it seems like they are gearing up for some kind of celebration of the movie’s 40th anniversary. The film originally came out in December of 1977, so the studio has quite a while to prepare something exciting, which I’m willing to bet will be limited theater screenings, a possible 4K remaster, and definitely some new home video editions. That being said, none of that is confirmed, so take all of this as speculation.
Directed by Steven Spielberg, Close Encounters of the Third Kind starred Richard Dreyfuss, Teri Garr, Francois Truffaut, and Melinda Dillon.
Synopsis:
A group of people attempt to contact alien intelligence. Roy Neary (Richard Dreyfuss) witnesses an unidentified flying object, and even has a “sunburn” from its bright lights to prove it. Roy refuses to accept an explanation for what he saw and is prepared to give up his life to pursue the truth about UFOs.
