Let the Horrifying Picture Develop in the Polaroid Trailer

A full trailer for Dimension Films upcoming horror title Polaroid has been released and it’s exactly what you’d expect a movie with this story to look like. A bunch of teens, a haunted camera, people start dying, etc… It’s glossy and polished but I’m not holding out much hope. That being said, I loved R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps entry “Say Cheese and Die”, so this might end up being something I absolutely adore!

Polaroid stars Kathryn Prescott (“Finding Carter”), Mitch Pileggi (“The X-Files”), Grace Zabriskie (The Grudge, “Santa Clarita Diet”), Tyler Young (Eyewitness), Keenan Tracey (“Bates Motel”), Samantha Logan (“The Fosters”), Priscilla Quintana (Stranded), Madelaine Petsch (“Riverdale”), and Javier Botet (The Conjuring 2, Mama, IT).

Norwegian director Lars Klevberg is shooting the film from a screenplay by Blair Butler. Dimension Films optioned the rights last year after Klevberg’s short made a splash at festivals and won Best Short for Klevberg and Best Cinematography for Pål Ulvik Rokseth at the Los Angeles Horror Competition short film festival.

Producing the film are Chris Bender, Jake Wagner, and Jake Weiner of Benderspink, producers of the original short; John Einar Hagen and Petter Onstad Lokke of El Dorado Films; and Roy Lee of Vertigo Films.

Synopsis:
From the producers of the THE RING and THE GRUDGE and based on the award-winning short by Lars Klevberg, comes the next iconic and bold new vision in horror: POLAROID. High school loner Bird Fitcher has no idea what dark secrets are tied to the mysterious Polaroid vintage camera she stumbles upon, but it doesn’t take long to discover that those who have their picture taken meet a tragic end.
