I don’t think it’s possible for anyone to want an actual good Godzilla flick more than we do here at Dread Central. Big G is close to all of our hearts and when news broke that another American one was on the way our hopes kind of sunk weighed down by memories of giant iguana chickens and bad New York accents. Then a glimmer of optimism appeared in the form of director Gareth Edwards.
Having recently helmed Monsters we knew one thing for sure … if anyone could make a giant monster movie it was this guy and his guarded approach to the subject matter of Godzilla has us grinning from ear-to-ear.
In an earlier interview Edwards told us exclusively, “This will definitely have a very different feel than the most recent US film, and our biggest concern is making sure we get it right for the fans because we know their concerns. It must be brilliant in every category because I’m a fan as well.”
Recently he sat down with IGN.UK for more. Dig on the video below.
