Three surefire signs that your life expectancy in a teen horror flick is fleeting: you break down in the desert, you find an abandoned carnival, and Tony Todd is talking to you in his creepy voice. All three are on display in the trailer for the new teen slasher Jack the Reaper. Nice knowin’ ya!

Tony Todd Gets Ripped With Jack the ReaperAmerican World Pictures acquired the film originally titled One-by-One: Death’s Door at last year’s American Film Market and has since changed the title to the better, yet more gimmicky Jack the Reaper. In the film from writer-director Kimberly Seilhamer, a group of teens set out on a field trip to a railroad museum only to encounter “Railroad Jack“, who makes sure their bus crashes and forces them to explore his carnival as he picks them off one at a time.

Why a “railroad reaper” lurks in a carnival strikes me as one of those questions right up there with Star Trek 5‘s “Why does God need a starship?

Candyman Todd stars along with former Oscar nominee Sally Kirkland (JFK, Bruce Almighty), Chris Bruno (“The Dead Zone”, “All My Children”), and Jay Gillespie (2001 Maniacs, Hellraiser: Revelations). Actor/stuntman Douglas Taite, who played a “stunt Jason” in Freddy vs. Jason and will be seen shortly as a “Frost Giant” in Thor, gets the title role as the sinister railway reaper named Jack.

American World Pictures has provided our first glimpse at Jack the Reaper and its admittedly creepy looking killer. Have a look below, unless you’re missing your eyes like ol’ Jack.
