You may not like CGI creatures, but they’re not going anywhere so just deal with it. A new trailer for Priest 3D has popped up online that’s rife with the buggers. On the bright side? At least these vampires are not sparkling emo broken-heart shitting douchebags.

Priest is an adaptation of a TokyoPop comic book that is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampire. Paul Bettany plays a warrior priest who turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece. It’s a 2D to 3D conversion, but don’t hold that against it.

Look for more on Scott Stewart’s Priest starring Paul Bettany, Cam Gigandet (The Unborn, Pandorum, The Roommate, Twilight), Madchen Amick, Stephen Moyer (“True Blood”), Maggie Q., Christopher Plummer, Brad Dourif, and Alan Dale in theatres on May 13th, 2011.

Set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires, Paul Bettany is Priest, a legendary warrior priest during the last Vampire War, who now lives in obscurity among the other human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities controlled by the Church. But when his 18-year-old niece is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires in the desolate wastelands outside, Priest breaks his sacred vows and ventures out to find her and seek vengeance upon those responsible, especially their brutal leader (Karl Urban). Priest is joined on his crusade by his niece’s boyfriend, Hicks (Cam Gigandet), a local outpost sheriff, and Priestess (Maggie Q), a member of his former legion of vampire-killers who has otherworldly fighting skills.

Been on the fence about this one for a while; this has edged me a bit more to the ‘this might be good’ side of things. Or at least pretty entertaining.
