After Wanted and the World of Watches movies, I thought Timur Bekmambetov was the best thing since sliced bread. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Ben-Hur have since proved me wrong, but you’re a fan of the man yourself, you can check out the 2015 film I Am Dragon (original title: On – drakon), which he produced, as its finally been released on US Blu-ray.

In the fantasy flick, a dragon kidnaps a princess on the eve of her wedding and whisks her off to a remote island where nothing is as it seems. As you can see from the trailer, we’re talking Hollywood-level production values, so it’s no surprise that the film grossed over $10 million during its theatrical run, with most of that cash coming from China and its native Russia.

I am Dragon was directed by Indar Dzhendubaev and stars Ieva Andrejevaite, Alyona Chekhova, Vyacheslav Chepurchenko, Darya Dubnikova and Yuriy Gorin.

Synopsis:
In the midst of the wedding princess Miroslava is kidnapped by a dragon and carried away into his castle on the remote island. Mira left everything behind in the past – family, friends and groom. Now the only things she has are a stone cage and a mysterious young man named Arman … but who is he and what is he doing on that island? Miroslava will know the truth too late: loving a dragon will reveal the bitter truth.
