Judge Dredd: Mega City One – Producers Want Karl Urban to Return

We told you about the new series “Judge Dredd: Mega City One” a couple of weeks ago, and recently on the 2000 AD Thrillcast, producer Brian Jenkins and executive producers Jason Kingsley and Mark Stern sat down to talk a bit about what to expect from the series, including (within the first 5 minutes) who they’d like to have play Dredd!
“The great thing about Karl [Urban who played the character in Dredd] is he’s actually a big fan of the comic book, and he’s a really nice guy, and I know him well enough to speak to him personally,” said Kingsley. “We have had many conversations prior to this about all sorts of different things. He’s also a very busy full-time professional actor. So, we are going to have some long and complicated conversations, I would imagine, and we’ll see where we go. It’s too early to tell yet. But if we can use him, and he is available to us, then I think that would be absolutely brilliant.”
The guys also revealed that they’re looking ahead at potentially delivering 5 to 10 seasons and maybe some spinoffs. The future is wondrously dark for Judge Dredd! We cannot wait to see where this goes. Check out the whole show below.
