The CW NetworkDuring my tenure working within the horror genre, there’s not a single other time that I can recall in which television casting news came so fast and furious. It’s like the world woke up and decided that horror projects were cool. Thanks for finally joining us. Where have you been for the last few decades?

According to ZAP2it both Shelley Hennig and Jessica Parker Kennedy have signed on for the bewitching new TV series for The CW Network, “Secret Circle”. Hennig (“Days of Our Lives”) has been cast as the big witch in charge, Diana, and Kennedy (“Smallville”) will be taking on the role of Melissa, one of the seven members in the show’s coven of witches. They’ll be joining the previously announced Brittany Robertson, Phoebe Tonkin, and Thomas Dekker.

“Secret Circle” centers on Cassie, a California teen who moves to her mom’s hometown of New Salem and discovers that she is a witch and part of a secret coven. She’s also the key that will unlock a centuries-old battle of good versus evil. Dekker portrays Adam, the oldest member of the aforementioned coven and a love interest for Cassie.

Williamson is penning the script and serving as an executive producer on the project, which, with its auspices, has emerged as a strong contender for a pilot pickup. The CW’s pilot episode will be directed by Liz Friedlander. Keep it here for more as it comes.
