You want to talk about a storied ride to the big screen? Lionsgate’s live action adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies has had more ups and downs than the Cyclone in Coney Island. So what other director names are being thrown around?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, in addition to Craig Gillespie (Fright Night remake), Lionsgate is considering Seth Grahame-Smith himself along with David Katzenberg for the film.

Grahame-Smith and Katzenberg – who are producing partners – would direct as a team. If they were to sign a deal, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies would mark the feature directorial debut for both.

The novel mixes Jane Austen’s 1813 classic novel Pride and Prejudice centering on Elizabeth Bennet’s quest for love and independence amid the outbreak of a virus that turns the dead into zombies. The story’s set in an alternate version of 19th Century England that features deadly ancestors roaming the countryside.
