Edgar Wright to Direct an Episode of The Walking Dead?

With the success of “The Walking Dead” Season One (Blu-ray/DVD review here), there will no doubt be a lot of big name talent attracted to the possibility of taking a crack at steering the ship from the director’s chair. One such name?

According to Collider Frank Darabont has asked Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) to direct an episode of “The Walking Dead” Season Two.

The question beckons, though … will he do it? Well, I really enjoyed the first season,” he tells Collider. “I wouldn’t wanna be the guy that comes in and fucks it up.”

We’ll keep an eye on things for ya! Stay tuned.

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

Wright is such an amazing stylist this isn’t the right fit for him. The Walking Dead requires a simple, matter of fact visual story telling approach. Wright is an amazing talent but it’s not needed for the source material; if he does his own thing that episode will not be visually cohesive with the rest of the season.

Spot on. This is either going to look nothing like Edgar Wright, or nothing like ‘The Walking Dead’.
