First Look at Captive State is Intense Yet Restrained

Coming to theaters this summer is Participant Media’s Captive State, a sci-fi thriller that follows Earth ten years after it has encountered extra-terrestrials. To start hyping the release, the first official image has been released and it shows star John Goodman hunkered down in what appears to be a bunker of some kind while he wears a breathing mask.
Directed by Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Gambler), who also co-wrote the original screenplay with Erica Beeney, Captive State stars John Goodman, Ashton Sanders (Moonlight), Jonathan Majors and Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring, “Bates Motel”).
Synopsis:
Set in a Chicago neighborhood nearly a decade after an occupation by an extra-terrestrial force, Captive State explores the lives on both sides of the conflict – the collaborators and dissidents.
