You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

  • The Buz

I think I started tearing up out of pure nostalgia during that trailer. I’ve watched it 3 times now. Yeah, the most highly anticipated movie for me at the moment. Cannot wait.

    • Masked Slasher

      Me too man. Big time.

  • GJW

Hmmm. Spielberg. Kids. “Approved for all audiences”. Lack of violence in Star Trek (JJ Abrams). I no longer have a good vibe about this. ET2?

Lack of violence in Star Trek? Whaaa? You lost me there.

      • Vanvance1

I’d say lack of intelligence in Star Trek, easily the dumbest work of big screen SF in a decade.

        • Messiahman

Apparently, you missed a LOT of films.

          • Vanvance1

Maybe I need to be more specific: The dumbest big budget SF movie with a claim to be SF or related to a show/movie that was originally SF.

Transformers is not SF, it’s a toy ad.

          • The Buz

            Battlefield Earth.

Loved the new Star Trek. Fun action movie in space, not Sci Fi.

I have watched this trailer about 50 times now.

      • GJW

Well, when everyone that is SO looking forward to this film is later tearing it up in a review and complaining about what a let down it was in the comment section, I’ll just sit here and laugh within myself. Heh. And yeah, lack of violence in Star Trek. They could have made it “harder” than what it was. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a soft family affair.Remember “The Wrath of Kahn”? That was pretty hardcore for a Star Trek movie. They could have went that direction and then some.

Uh yeah, cuz if there’s one thing the Star Trek franchise is known for, it’s hardcore violence.

Seriously man, have you been paying much attention to this flick? They’ve made it pretty clear its intended to be a tribute / throwback to the style of early career Spielberg flicks like Jaws, ET and Close Encounters.

Hell, considering those were the kind of movies that helped shape my appreciation of film growing up, that’s why I’m more excited for this than any other flick coming out this summer.

      • GJW

I didn’t state that’s what it was “known for”. What’s wrong with taking a franchise outside the box for a movie? Oh, and ET and Close Encounters was weak! So…
