We’re still about a week away from the release of Alien: Covenant (review), and the news keeps on trucking in! Sit back, kids, ’cause you’re likely to be here for a bit!

First up, Ridley Scott spoke to Yahoo! about Prometheus‘ influence on his new film.

We discovered from [Prometheus] that [the fans] were really frustrated. They wanted to see more of the original [monster], and I thought he was definitely cooked, with an orange in his mouth. So I thought: ‘Wow, okay, I’m wrong’. The fans, in a funny kind of way – they’re not the final word – but they are the reflection of your doubts about something. And then you realize ‘I was wrong’ or ‘I was right.’ I think that’s where it comes in. I think you’re not sensible if you don’t actually take [the fans’ reaction] into account.

Then IGN is home to a video in which Ridley Scott explains his inspiration for Alien: Covenant‘s new creature, the Neomorph.

From there we even have a new Facehugger-fueled clip for you!

Finally, for those fans with an artistic flair… dig on this incredible Xenomorph origami from artist Kade Chan!

Look for Alien: Covenant everywhere on May 19th.
