It’s all about the military fighting off aliens invading the City of Angels this weekend. Battle: Los Angeles in theaters; The Asylum mockbuster Battle of Los Angeles premiering on Syfy on Saturday night. Syfy has posted two short snippets of Battle of Los Angeles action. Bet you didn’t know you could kill a UFO with a samurai sword, did you?
The first Battle of Los Angeles clip is all kinds of are-you-kidding-me awesome. What starts out with just your average soldiers on the run from an alien spaceship – gotta love those free-floating gyroscopes in the front – ends with Nia Peeples making like Blade by taking out a UFO with a samurai sword. She slays a UFO by stabbing it through the engine the same way a swordsman would jump on the back of a large creature and stab it to death. Okay, my interest in this movie just immediately shot up 1000%.
The less spectacular second clip sees one of those spaceships chasing after a truck being driven by Peeples, now sporting an eye patch, no doubt for extra added badassery. It doesn’t speak highly of our military that a soldier firing at the pursuing UFO with what I’m assuming is some sort of high-tech or possibly even alien cannon proves about as impotent as a narc at a biker rally. Guess UFO slaying isn’t so easy without a katana.
Battle of Los Angeles premieres this Saturday, March 12th, on Syfy at 9/8C.
