For weeks after the Super 8 Super Bowl TV spot aired, eager fans have been toiling over every frame, thereby uncovering every frame of hidden imagery and assembling them to uncover hidden messages.
If you head on over to the Apple site where the spot first debuted, you would have noticed something weird. The commercial, while mostly the same, had been changed slighting with flashes of imagery that amount to an even bigger image when put together. In fact, the trailer had been changing every so often.
The good folks over at Super 8 News nailed down every single one of them and put them into the chart you see below. Click it for a better look. What does it all mean? Who knows? But wow are we intrigued.
“The Paramount Pictures release is set in Ohio in 1979 and introduces a troupe of six youngsters who are using a Super 8 camera to make their own zombie movie. One fateful night, their project takes them to a lonely stretch of rural railroad tracks and, as the camera rolls, calamity strikes — a truck collides with an oncoming locomotive and a hellacious derailment fills the night with screaming metal and raining fire. Then something emerges from the wreckage, something decidedly inhuman.”
Super 8 opens in theatres on June 10th.
