HorrorCon UK is back with a bang for all you gorehounds over in England next month; and this third edition, which will once again take place at the Magna Science Adventure Centre (on Sheffield Road in Rotherham), will be dedicated to all things macabre and looks set to be the best yet.

Hold on to your machetes and your clown costumes because HorrorCon UK has secured the one and only Sid Haig as a guest this year, which is so awesome we’ll say it again… Sid Haig is coming to the UK! The veteran actor has starred in just about every iconic television show and movie you can think of. He has been on our screens for almost 60 years, starring in original classic shows such as “Batman,” “Star Trek,” “Gunsmoke,” and “The Six Million Dollar Man.”

In the 70s he got his fingers dirty, starring in a succession of some of the most infamous exploitation movies of all time… think Coffy, Foxy Brown, and Black Mama, White Mama. The most recent generation has been exposed to Haig through Quentin Tarantino and Rob Zombie. Tarantino cast Haig twice in his movies, first with 1997’s Jackie Brown and again seven years later in Kill Bill: Vol. 2.

But it was Zombie who threw Haig into the horror limelight when he cast him as a crazy clown, named after a character originally played by Groucho Marx, the one and only Captain Spaulding. Haig played Spaulding twice – first in Zombie’s brilliant directorial debut, House of 1000 Corpses, and again in the equally awesome sequel, The Devil’s Rejects. Though the movies are only a little over a decade old, Haig’s performances are known to horror fans as so outstanding they are already referenced in the “classic” sense.

Haig has gone on to continue his horror career by starring in such movies as The Inflicted, Bone Tomahawk, the yet to be released but highly anticipated Death House, as well as two other Rob Zombie efforts: Halloween and The Lords of Salem.

Haig will undoubtedly be a huge draw, but catch your breath because also at HorrorCon UK will be Heather Langenkamp, the one and only Nancy Thompson from the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. She starred, of course, as Freddy Krueger’s original nemesis in the 1984 classic. Three years later she returned in arguably one of the finest horror sequels of all time and then went on to appear in Wes Craven’s out of the box meta bastard son version of his own franchise, New Nightmare, which was actually the scariest Elm Street film since the first one. Langenkamp has gone on to appear in ”American Horror Story” and the upcoming tenth installment of Hellraiser.

Feeling spoiled yet? Well, how about having the chance to meet David Warner, who will also be at HorrorCon UK? The legendary actor has starred in horror classics such as The Omen, The Company of Wolves, and the 80s TV movie Frankenstein. Warner also appeared in the much loved 80s classic Waxwork and John Carpenter’s 1994 shocker In the Mouth of Madness. The Englishman was most recently seen in ”Penny Dreadful” as Abraham van Helsing.

But the fun doesn’t stop there, as the one and only Cassandra Peterson, aka Elvira, will also be making an appearance over the festive weekend. What Peterson has done for women in horror is insurmountable, and the hostess with the mostest will be welcomed with open arms, that’s for sure.

John Jarratt is also set to appear, Jarratt will be known to horror fans as serial killer Mick Taylor from the Wolf Creek franchise. British actress Linda Hayden, most famous in the horror genre for Hammer horror’s Taste the Blood of Dracula and the chilling The Blood on Satan’s Claw, will also appear over the weekend.

Even more guests are rumored to be on their way, and HorrorCon UK will play host once again to Scare Play, where fans will dress up as their icons to win prizes. The weekend of May 13-14 is set to be a horror fan’s Christmas come early, and you can get tickets and inquire about exclusive photo ops with guests at ticketquarter.co.uk/Online/horrorcon-2017.
