Here’s the First Trailer for Spike’s The Mist Series

The first trailer for Spike TV’s upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Mist” has been released and can be seen right here.

The first thing I noticed was that the show doesn’t seem to have the same kind of atmosphere and attitude as the 2007 film, which was directed by Frank Darabont. That film seemed to be almost subdued, restraining itself until the critical moment when it blew up and everything went to hell. This trailer puts a lot more action into the mix, as well as showing several scenes where the mist isn’t present.

To be fair, I’m guessing that there will be an episode or two before the mist becomes an ever-present part of that world. Additionally, I’m sure that this trailer was cut to be action-heavy.

As for how the show itself will play out, that’s something we’ll have to wait to see until “The Mist” premieres on Thursday, June 22nd, at 10pm ET/PT.

“The Mist” stars Morgan Spector, Alyssa Sutherland, Gus Birney, Danica Curcic, Okezie Morro, Luke Cosgrove, Darren Pettie, Russell Posner, Dan Butler, Isiah Whitlock, Jr., and Frances Conroy.

Synopsis:
“The Mist” centers around a small town family that is torn apart by a brutal crime. As they deal with the fallout, an eerie mist rolls in, suddenly cutting them off from the rest of the world and, in some cases, each other. Family, friends, and adversaries become strange bedfellows, battling the mysterious mist and its threats, fighting to maintain morality and sanity as the rules of society break down.
